BioMedical Science Park Bochum
The BioMedical Science Park Bochum represents the new home of corporations in the health management sector.
Situated right between the Healthcare Campus North Rhine-Westphalia and the Ruhr-University Bochum, the location of the BioMedical Science Park Bochum becomes the first address for companies and organizations which are eager to benefit as well from the Healthcare Campus´ presence as from the research activities taking place at the location for healthcare in Bochum.
The BioMedical Science Park Bochum offers a buildable plot of approx. 55.000 m² to investors and entrepreneurs of the health management sector. The sizes of the available plots range from 1,500 up to 10,000 m². Planning approvals for the entire, fully-developed plot have been obtained. Each of the five development sites is ready to be built on.

According to the binding site plan, the permission of establishment on the premises of the BioMedical Science Park Bochum is granted to such corporations, „[…] that deal with the production, research or application of medical/medical-technical products or biochemical/biotechnical products, resp. that are considered to act as wholesaler or service provider in the fields of medicine, medical technologies or bio technologies.“
The site plan allows for a three- up to six-story way of construction. Partial areas allow even for nine-story constructions. The determined floor area of 0,8 enables a high site exploitation and the realization of a high building density.
The BioMedizinPark Bochum is surrounded by an undulating landscape that becomes narrow towards the Ruhr´s Valley. The concept of the urban development involves the formation of plateaus that will provide for plain construction areas. The formal boundary of the building plots which is formed by gabions demonstrates this topographic modeling of the area in an appealing visual way. The ever-visible green underlines the character of the park.
